Their main job is to be a part of the attack and keep the ball pushing forward toward the goal. In soccer, the midfielders are stationed between the forwards and defenders in the middle of the field. The goalkeeper is the only player who can use their arms and hands to block the ball as long as it is inside the penalty box. Goalkeeper – The goalkeeper defends the goal from the other team’s offensive players.There are four main defensive positions in soccer. I’ve often found myself playing in a defensive position and can tell you that it takes a lot of focus and attention to detail to perform well in this role. They are positioned within their own half of the field and work together to ensure the other team doesn’t progress.
